HP has just announced its latest generation of EliteBook laptops, a lineup focused on bringing the power of artificial intelligence directly to professionals. The new series, which includes the EliteBook Ultra G1i, EliteBook X G1i, EliteBook X Flip G1i, and EliteBook X G1a models, aims to redefine productivity and collaboration with dedicated AI processing power, striking displays, and enhanced security features. This launch signifies a major step forward for HP in the commercial laptop space, directly addressing the evolving needs of modern workplaces.

The highlight of this new EliteBook series is undoubtedly the integration of dedicated Neural Processing Units (NPUs) capable of handling complex AI tasks right on the device. The Intel-powered models, including the EliteBook Ultra G1i, EliteBook X G1i, and EliteBook X Flip G1i, feature Intel Core Ultra processors with NPUs delivering up to 48 TOPS (trillions of operations per second). The HP EliteBook X G1a, powered by AMD Ryzen Pro processors, takes the lead with an NPU reaching an impressive 55 TOPS, which HP claims is the highest in the industry for laptops. This substantial processing power translates to tangible benefits for users, enabling smoother multitasking, faster data analysis, and improved performance in AI-driven applications.

One of the standout models, the HP EliteBook Ultra G1i, catches the eye with its stunning 14-inch 3K OLED display featuring a sharp resolution of 2880 x 1800 pixels and a smooth 120Hz refresh rate. This display promises vibrant colors, deep blacks, and exceptional clarity, making it ideal for content creation, detailed work, and immersive viewing experiences. The EliteBook Ultra G1i is also remarkably thin and light, weighing just 1.19kg, making it a perfect companion for professionals who are constantly on the move.

Beyond the display, the EliteBook Ultra G1i also boasts a 9MP AI-enhanced webcam. This high-resolution camera, coupled with dual microphones and HP’s Poly Camera Pro software, aims to elevate the quality of video conferences. Features such as auto-framing and background adjustments, powered by AI, ensure users look and sound their best during virtual meetings. The laptop also features a large haptic trackpad, providing a premium and responsive user experience.

The other models in the series, the EliteBook X G1i and the convertible EliteBook X Flip G1i, also focus on enhancing productivity. They are powered by Intel Core Ultra processors and offer up to 48 TOPS of NPU performance. The EliteBook X Flip G1i, weighing 1.4kg, offers the flexibility of switching between laptop, tablet, and tent modes, catering to various work styles. It also supports the HP Rechargeable Active Pen for precise note-taking and creative tasks. Both these models feature Poly Studio-tuned audio and Poly Camera Pro, ensuring excellent audio and video quality for collaboration.

The HP EliteBook X G1a stands out with its AMD Ryzen 7 Pro and 9 Pro processor options and a massive 64GB of LPDDR5x RAM. This configuration positions it as a powerhouse for demanding tasks and heavy multitasking. Despite its robust performance, it weighs a reasonable 1.49kg. This model also incorporates an AI-enhanced webcam with adaptive dimming and Poly Studio audio for optimized video conferencing. A notable feature is its fast-charging capability, which can bring the battery from zero to 50 percent in just 30 minutes, minimizing downtime for busy professionals.

HP has also placed a strong emphasis on security across the entire EliteBook series. Features like HP Wolf Security and an Endpoint Security Controller provide comprehensive protection against cyber and even quantum computing threats. This multi-layered security approach ensures that sensitive business data remains safe.

Sustainability is another key aspect of the new EliteBook lineup. HP has incorporated recycled materials in the construction of these laptops. For instance, the external cover of the EliteBook Ultra G1i is made from 90 percent recycled magnesium, demonstrating HP’s commitment to environmentally conscious design.

To further enhance the user experience, HP has included features like HP AI Companion, a tool designed to personalize audio and video settings using AI. The laptops also feature a dedicated Microsoft Copilot key, providing instant access to the AI assistant, streamlining workflows and providing quick access to information and assistance. HP Smart Sense technology is also present in some models, optimizing battery efficiency and overall performance based on usage patterns.

Vineet Gehani, Senior Director, Personal Systems, HP India, stated that HP believes AI PCs are driving a significant shift in productivity and collaboration. He added that the new EliteBook lineup is engineered to optimize, enhance security, and deliver personalized experiences tailored for the future of work. By integrating AI, advanced security, and sustainable design, HP aims to set a new benchmark in the industry.
